1099-NEC Tax Form Information
To assist with your tax filing, Linguabee provides IRS Form 1099-NEC to independent contractors who meet the federal reporting threshold. This page outlines who receives a form, how to access it, and how to verify your earnings.
Overview
The 1099-NEC (Non-Employee Compensation) is a tax form used to report payments made to independent contractors. In accordance with IRS regulations, Linguabee will issue this form to any provider who has earned $600 or more in total compensation during the tax year.
These forms are generated electronically via our compliance partner, Track1099 (Avalara), to ensure security and accuracy.

Paper Copies: If you do not want to receive your form electronically, or are unable to download it for any reason, no action is needed. Frequently Asked Questions
Who receives a 1099-NEC?
You will receive a 1099-NEC if you are an independent contractor (individual, sole proprietor, or single-member LLC) and received $600 or more in payments from Linguabee during the calendar year. While the IRS does not require it, Linguabee will also send a 1099-NEC to Corporations (S-Corps and C-Corps) to assist in your record keeping.
When will I receive my form?
Forms are issued on or before January 31st. You will receive an email from Track1099 with a secure link to download your form. If you do not access the digital copy, a physical copy will be mailed to the address on file.
How do I access my 1099 electronically?
Look for an email from Track1099. The email will contain a secure link. You may need to enter the last four digits of your SSN or EIN (depending on which Tax ID you provided to us) to verify your identity and download the PDF.
What if my address or name is incorrect on the form?
If your 1099 was issued with incorrect information, you must submit an updated W-9 immediately so we can issue a correction. Please visit our W-9 Update Page to trigger a secure update request.
Why doesn't the 1099 amount match my records? (Cash vs. Accrual)
The 1099-NEC reflects payments received (Cash Basis), not necessarily work performed, during the tax year. For example, if you completed work in December 2024 but were paid in January 2025, that income will appear on your 2025 1099, not 2024. If you file on an accrual basis, simply keep records showing the difference; the IRS only taxes income once.
It is after January 31st and I haven't received my form. What do I do?
First, please check your Spam or Junk folder for an email from Track1099. Second, verify in Octoo that your total payments for the year exceeded $600. If you are eligible and still cannot find your form, please contact us at support@linguabee.com.
