This position is an administrative support position; the Accounting Bee will interact with the company’s customers by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints, generally providing a higher level of customer support on an assigned product or service, perform routine clerical, filing, and data entry tasks for accounting including accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable, and provide admin support. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with customers via telephone, email, online chat, or in-person to provide support and information on an assigned product or service.
  • Ensures that appropriate actions are taken to resolve customer/interpreter issues and concerns.
  • Maintains customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries, complaints, or comments.
  • Respond to inquiries or forward to the appropriate department.
  • Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable.
  • Reviews and processes billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alert supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
  • Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
  • Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent account holders to request payment.
  • Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Manager and other staff.
  • Work with a bookkeeper and CPA as directed.
  • May assist with mail distribution, answering telephones, and other clerical tasks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
  • Must be proficient in working on a computer.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems. ● Excellent communication skills including active listening through email, text, phone call, and other methods.
  • Service-oriented and able to resolve customer grievances.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn, product, service, or area of customer service specialization.
  • Basic mathematical skills and a high level of comfort with numbers.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently from your own home.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with colleagues and customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High-performing communication skills and fluency in ASL.
  • Education / High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service and bookkeeping experience is preferred but not required, we will train.
  • Physical requirement / Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Pay and Benefits

  • Salary is $45,000 - $55,000 a year depending on experience.
  • Flexible PTO.
  • Health insurance stipend ($500 per month).
